Student Store Offers Supplies

The Student Store has been an early morning tradition for many years at Cedar Park.  Located smack dab in the front lobby, students are able to purchase a wide array of school-supplies, instrument reeds, limited snacks, and PE t-shirts between 8:50-9:15am, Monday through Friday.

This valuable addition to CPMS is entirely run by PTC volunteers and is a great way to interact with the CPMS student body.  Click here to see open shifts. Student Store lead, Carrie Fox, is happy to train any new parents who are curious about this unique opportunity to witness the CPMS student experience.

PACK Store key Part of Incentive Program

Cedar Park's PACK store (formerly the PBIS store) is open for business every first and third Thursday during students' lunch periods, allowing students to turn in their PACK tokens (earned from teachers) and choose from a variety of prizes, including tic tacs, pens, socks, games, and other novelty items.

This PTC-sponsored store is a part of CPMS's Positive Behavior Intervention System.  Students earn tickets from teachers and staff by demonstrating behaviors that represent the CPMS pillars:  Perseverance, Acceptance, Courage, Knowledge.

Students can save these tickets for larger prizes, spend as they earn them, or add them to the PACK raffle, which offers fun drawings for gift cards and school swag.

Parent volunteers are needed to help man the store. This is also an awesome way to interact with CPMS students in a fun, informal setting. Sign-up shifts are available here.

PTC Meet & Greet Eases Transition into New School Year

IMG_5068.JPG

Last Monday evening, Cedar Park parents gathered to connect and learn about CPMS and the Parent Teacher Club (PTC). This casual event was a new endeavor to better bring our parents and community together at the start of the school year.

Dr. Anderson was on hand to answer questions in a small group setting, while PTC Board members presented information about volunteering, fundraising, committees, and various parent opportunities at Cedar Park.

Spend a moment to step through last night’s slideshow to learn a thing or two about Cedar Park’s PTC, committee news, and general updates.

Coffee & Tea Event with Dr. Anderson Scheduled for Monday, 10/1

This event will be a chance for CPMS parents to meet, ask questions, and share ideas with our CPMS administration. Learn more about the policies, practices and academics at CPMS in a smaller setting and meet other Cedar Park parents.

Two sessions will be offered in the CPMS Library-- at 8:45am and 6pm.

ALL PARENTS are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Four Things Parents Should Know about the CPMS 5K

1.  The 5K is the Cedar Park PTC’s only fundraiser.

Forget the extended magazine sales or monthly dining nights.  Your parent-teacher club (PTC) is getting it done RIGHT NOW, so we can spend the rest of the year relaxing & watching our hard-earned donations being spent on our kids.

2. Donors have payment options-- online or donation envelope.

Families can set-up an online Firstgiving fundraising page & solicit donors from family & friends across America.  But if you’d rather just keep it old school & write us a check (or stuff a little cash in an envelope), we’ll take that too. Either way, it’s tax deductible!!

3. The 5K provides some pretty cool stuff that KEEPS CEDAR PARK AWESOME.

This 5K does it all– bulking up the robotics lab, supplementing our after-school clubs, providing transportation for educational field trips, and most importantly, filling in those gaps where the regular school budget just ain’t cutting it.  HERE'S HOW LAST YEAR'S FUNDS WERE PUT TO GOOD USE.

Want nitty gritty? Head to www.cedarparkptc.org/business to poke through our financials.

4. We need parents to make the day LEGENDARY.

The 5K team has got some pretty awesome ideas in their back pocket (one word:  FLAMINGOS) but we can’t pull it off without YOU. Take a moment to sign-up for a shift to make magic happen on 10/4.

Got your background check figured out?  All your info is at www.cedarparkptc.org/volunteering.

Ready to get started online?

Head to our 5K Firstgiving website, where you can build a simple and secure online fundraising page for your student, and qualify them for next week's Top Golf raffle.

Keep it up, Timberwolves!  The countdown continues to our 5K on October 4th.
