Chromebook Turn In Information:

Students should be prepared to turn in their devices during Humanities class.

Tuesday 6/11 = 6th grade

Wednesday 6/12 = 7th grade

Thursday 6/13 =8th grade

Parents should:

  • Evaluate their students chromebook for damages before turning the device in

  • Help their student(s) clean the chromebook with computer safe cleaning products before the device is turned in.

Cedar Park does not allow students to add stickers to their chromebook. Please ensure your student has removed any stickers they added before returning the device to the school.

6th and 7th grade students are asked to leave the Red Identification Tape on the device as 6th and 7th grade students will receive the same chromebook they used this year for the next school year.

8th graders are reminded: They are still responsible for their chromebook until they turn it into the Library. If a student intentionally damages or vandalizes their chromebook nearing the end of the school year, the student will be responsible for the cost of a replacement device which is $300. Parents should remind students that the chromebooks are school property and must be taken care of.

YOUR MONEY AT WORK-- Art Literacy Brings Art Deco to CPMS

IMG_8676.JPG

PTC time, money and volunteers went into making April’s Art Literacy lesson a huge success. The world of Art Deco inspired our 1000+ students to create beautiful & unique pieces.

Shout out to our incredible Art Lit leadership team– Jana Drotzmann, Maureen Louie, Melissa Manos, Melanie Odom, & Sally Sonek. Another thank you is due to the many volunteers who came in to help pull off this massive endeavor. Finally, a round of applause to all of our 5K donors who make these hands-on Art Lit projects possible.

Art Literacy Returns to CPMS this April, Volunteers Needed

Screen Shot 2019-03-19 at 2.20.58 PM.png

The second of two PTC-funded art lit lessons will be held this April, as the world of Art Deco comes to Cedar Park. These artistic endeavors are made possible thanks to your generous 5K donation.

Like last fall, students will first meet in the Library/Media Center for the lesson & slide show. The art project will then be done in each Humanities classroom.

All volunteers must have completed an mVP background check and log-in to the main computer when entering the building.

TRAINING SESSION:

There will be a one hour training on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 7:00pm in the Cedar Park Library/Media Center. During the training, the lesson and project are reviewed, so that volunteers are familiar with what will be done on the big day! Volunteers are not required to attend this training but it is a nice way to learn about the subject before hand, make your own piece of art and chat with other volunteers.

Questions can be directed to cpms.art.lit@gmail.com.

YOUR MONEY AT WORK-- Winter Student Socials

Cedar Park's student body had some serious fun at last week's student socials, made possible by your generous 5K donation and this community's awesome volunteers.

There were several activities, including a live dj, caricature artist and a face painter, along with karaoke and iPads/board games in the library and a photo booth. A food truck was also on hand to serve up some party food for these hungry hooligans.

HUGE THANKS to CPMS teacher, Liv Cruse, and her incredible team for organizing this awesome community-building event for our students. And of course, our donors and volunteers are everyday heroes as well.
