Dear Cedar Park Supporters,

Are you a business owner or partner in a local company? We invite you to be a corporate sponsor of our 2019 5K Fundraiser to support our school.

The Cedar Park 5K Fundraiser Committee is working to make our fundraising efforts bigger and better.  This is the one time a year we reach out to our community to raise money so that we can fund many experiences and projects for our students.  At $50,000 raised, we fund field trips including an 8th grade visit to OSU and 6th & 7th grade OMSI experiences, as well as allow our teachers to enrich their classes and the education of the Cedar Park students beyond the school budget.  This year we’re also aiming beyond $50,000 to support special school improvement projects in our innovative hands-on engineering lab, library and classrooms.

Would you help us accomplish these goals?

To become a sponsor, please send an email to 5K@cedarparkptc.org.  We will work with you to find the sponsorship level that is right for your business and also gives you the visibility in our community that you are looking for.  Note that sponsorship packages include signage hung along Cedar Hills Blvd.  Get your business information seen by 20,000+ vehicles per day!!

Sponsorship levels include our $2,500 Platinum Sponsor, $1,000 Gold Sponsor, $500 Silver Sponsor and $250 Bronze Sponsor.  Please see the reverse page for details and to learn how you can share visibility to our community while supporting excellence in our school.

Thank you for your support and investing in the youth of our community.  We look forward to a highly successful fundraiser working together.

Regards,

The Cedar Park 5K Fundraiser Committee

Parent Input Needed for Student Success Act

Screen Shot 2019-09-02 at 8.17.24 AM.png

The Oregon Legislature passed and the Governor signed the $2 billion Student Success Act (HB 3427) in Spring 2019. This is an historic and much needed investment in K-12 schools. Beaverton could be able to access an estimated $34 million per year through a state application process.

School districts will be required to apply for funds. Districts must demonstrate engagement of the community in a needs assessment process prior to the application for funds. The needs assessment includes the District’s existing Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) and an expanded public engagement process with multiple and diverse stakeholders.

Districts are allowed four broad uses for the grant proposals:

  1. Increasing instructional time

  2. Addressing student health and safety needs

  3. Increasing adults/decreasing class size

  4. Expanding well-rounded learning opportunities.

Programs must also meet students’ behavioral and mental health needs and increase academic achievement as well as reduce disparities among student groups.

Phase I community engagement will seek input on what is working and what improvements are needed.

Your voice matters! We welcome your perspective and opinion. Take our BSD Needs Assessment Survey!

Additionally, there is a Community Conversation scheduled for Cedar Park: Thursday, 9/26 from 6:30- 8:30pm. Join the conversation surrounding what is and isn’t working in our schools!

2019 New Family Reception THIS THURSDAY, 8/29

Screen Shot 2019-08-02 at 8.39.31 PM.png

All new CPMS families are invited to a New Family Reception, this Thursday, 8/29, between 5-6:30pm. This informal, drop-in event is a perfect opportunity for incoming Cedar Park families to wander through the halls, find all their classrooms (and bathrooms!) and generally ease any new school jitters.

A sweet treat will be provided, courtesy of the Cedar Park Parent Teacher Club (PTC). Don't miss this chance to better acquaint your child to Cedar Park before their first day of school.

ADVICE FROM PROS:

  • The zippered binder does the best job keeping all the student’s school supplies together.

  • Get advanced calculator for 6th grade, so you only need to buy one once for your three years at Cedar Park.

  • One PE t-shirt is plenty. Kids can bring home on weekends to wash.

  • Pre-purchasing the yearbook ensure your child will receive one on the last day of school.

  • Online already? Complete your student’s online verification as well.

Unable to attend Wolf Day?  You may purchase items online, but students will not be able to pick them up prior to their first day of school.  There is a grace period for supplies and PE t-shirts, so no need to stress.

Rather brave the Back to School aisles yourself?  Here's a pdf of Cedar Park's 2019-20 school supply list.
