Library media assistant, Debbie Hernandez, continues to make relevant, beautiful displays throughout the Cedar Park library. Debbie selects books to accompany her displays.

Her current display is a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr., which will remain on display through the end of February. The display is accompanied with books and information about the civil rights movement and Black History Month.

THANK YOU, Ms. Hernandez, for creating beautiful and rich spaces for our students to learn.

Support the Beaverton Middle School Music Festival

Screen Shot 2019-02-06 at 6.04.24 PM.png

Join the movement to support a day-long band festival on April 4th for all eight of our Beaverton middle school band programs.

The festival was originally going to be funded though the district Fine Arts budget, but due to budget cuts, middle school band programs will have to raise the money on their own with help from the community.   BEF (Beaverton Education Foundation) is doing a matching gift challenge for the first 96 hours (will end Saturday at noon). That will make it so even small donations will be impactful.

Attending a band festival is an amazing educational opportunity every music student should experience. Students will hear bands from other schools, be scored on their performance and receive clinics from professional band adjudicators. This experience will motivate students to grow as musicians and will build community through music.

Funding will pay for buses, substitute teachers, and professional band judges and will allow all of our BSD middle school advanced bands to attend.

  • Buses-$1,000

  • Teacher Substitutes- $2,000

  • Festival Judges-$1,000

Total: $4,000

Don’t miss this opportunity to support positive experiences in our middle school.

College Pennants Grace CPMS Halls Courtesy of Ms. Trisha Parks

8th grade Humanities teacher, Trisha Parks, has been diligently sprucing up our schools hallways with college pennants from colleges within Oregon and neighboring states. Post high school success is the overall goal for the Beaverton School District. Students are engaged and curious about the various post-secondary education options available to them.

Ms. Parks has organized most of the pennants by state, creating excellent displays throughout our halls. THANK YOU, Ms. Parks, for keeping Cedar Park awesome!
